The Woodlot Clean-up

On the 14th of August 2015 I had a 20 ton digger dropped of at my place. It came to shift all the September 2013 wind fallen trees into piles so Dad can put a match to it and eventually they will burn into embers. The digger driver Ben will root-rake his way in and start plucking trees off the ground and put them into piles, as I said. We can't sell the trees because they are too young to be worth any thing. The age the tree has to be is 23 (Human) years old to be worth any money. Our trees are 18 years of age. Ben has to pluck about 2,000 trees three by three. He will be at my place for at least 3 days. 

All is left now is 3 smoking and smouldering piles of charcoal, a few pinecones and bits of trees. Mum, my little sister and I make little camp fires pretty much everyday after school.

Neptune: Neptune means Roman mythology, Greek god Poseidon

Position in the Solar System: Neptune is 8th in the Solar System. It is beside Uranus and on the other side is Pluto. It orbits 4.498 billion kilometers from the Sun.

Rotation on its Axis: Neptune’s day is only 16 hours unlike Earth which has 24 hours in a day.

Size: Neptune is almost 4 times the diameter of Earth which is about 12,500 wide.

Gravity: Neptune has 11.15 m/s2 of gravity. I would weigh about 68.76 kgs on Neptune.

Orbit: It takes 165 Earth years for Neptune to orbit the Sun.

Atmosphere: Neptune's atmosphere is made up predominately of hydrogen and helium, with some methane. The methane is part of what gives Neptune its brilliant blue tint, as it absorbs red light and reflects bluer colors.

Temperature: The temperature on Neptune is always -218 degrees Celsius.

Composition of Your Planet and its Appearance: Neptune is the last gas planet along with Uranus, Jupiter and Saturn.

Moons: Neptune has 14 moons. They are called Triton, Nereid, Larissa, Proteus, Naiad, Thalassa, Galatea, Despina, Laomedeia, Halimede, Sao, Neso, Psamathe and S/2004 N 1.

Rings: Neptune has 3 main rings that are very thin and dark, but there are several others.

How Would a Human Being Fare on Your Planet: They could only be in Neptune's atmosphere. Neptune is gas down as far as the core and so there is technically no surface. Therefore, a human could never be 'on' Neptune, on 'in' its atmosphere, and a human on Neptune would be a bit heavier, but not to much. There isn't anything to eat. It would be colder than most could imagine. Cold enough that nitrogen, which is an atmospheric gas here on earth, would be a liquid on Neptune. A person couldn't wear enough clothing to be protected outside on the surface. Any building there would have to be insulated in a way no building contractors here on earth have ever done. You'd need some serious heat in that building. Very serious heat. Oh, and with wind on Neptune ripping at something like 2100 kilometers per hour, it would be really tough to keep a structure in one place.

Something Special: Neptune is one of 4 gas giants. The storms on Neptune are 3 times as fast as the Hurricanes on Earth. Neptune is tilted 28.32% degrees, unlike Earth which is 23.5% tilted. Space crafts have never landed on Neptune and they probably will never because Neptune is gas so the Space crafts will fall right through.

Your personal opinion: Overall, I think that Neptune is a damn cool planet and it is my favourite planet.

Story Starter - Fred the Miner

Once there was a miner who lived in a underground mine. He never came out and he never saw any sunlight. His name was Fred and he swung a pick-axe all day until he didn't have any energy left so he flopped down in bed and went to sleep. Fred was born in the mine, he didn't go to school and he was pretty dumb. If he sold the valuables he found, Fred would be a billionaire. He mined, Gold, Coal, Charcoal, Crystal and he found an Emerald. Fred wasn't deep enough to find Ruby or Diamond. Fred lived with his Farther, Mother and two brothers. They were named; Farther: Jack; Mother: Crystal; First brother: Lachie; Second brother: Ben. Fred was older than his brothers. When dinner time came around the Farther Jack would go out with his Bow and Arrows and  shoot the odd Camel that was walking around. I can't imagine that was very tasty. Either that or die. But they were a happy family and that was the most that mattered.  

Persuasive Writing Tackle Rugby

I think kids should be allowed to play tackle rugby at school. I have three good reasons to back my argument.

Firstly, We can do it safely if we bring a change of cloths and our mouth guards. We will also ask a teacher to supervise us for one break. Then we will go in 5 minutes before break ends and get changed back into our school uniform.

Secondly, Tackle rugby is a good way to make you fit. It runs your energy out faster than touch, because you actually have to tackle. In touch you just simply touch the ball carrier. I don't like touch, I like tackle muuuch better.

Thirdly, heaps of other schools play tackle rugby, like Rolleston, Prebbleton and Hornby. I'd like Springston to be one of those schools.

In, conclusion I think that tackle rugby makes you more fit and more confident. We should definitely play tackle rugby at Springston.

The tractor I'm getting

I am getting a David Brown Cropmaster 30c. It was my Grandad's, but sadly he died so it is getting a new life at my house. My Grandad pulled it apart to fix a piston sleeve but then got sick and couldn't fix the rest so it is up to me to make him proud. What I've got to do is basicly put all the parts back on it and buy a new piston sleeve then start er up and go. It will take a while (about 25 days) but I'll get there. I woke up in what I thought was a port-a-loo. But it wasn't. A time machine! Wow I really didn't think I was ever going to be in one of these. When I finally get out of my dream I bolt up to check how many years I've gone back. 65 million years. "CRICKEY." I build up my courage to step outside. Am I in a neon world? Looking up I see neon orange, green and pink pterodactyls having so much fun. It's an amazing achievement. I wonder what Mum, Dad and Zoë are thinking back on earth. I wonder.

100 Word Challenge Moon Walk

As I take my first step out of Snell space ship and on to the white, sandy moon. I looked up into deep space and nearly fell over. I head back to the spaceship and get my MDB ( Moon Dune Buggy ). I cruise around in that for a bit and then I get out and jump around. Then something catches my eye, something like an Emerald. I race over to it. Next thing I collapse from amazement. Finally I get up and go back to Snell space ship and fly back to earth so I can brag to my mates.
